You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water. - Rabindranath Tagore

“You cannot cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water” – this adage is meant to understand that you cannot cross the sea by just standing at a point and continue to stare at the water.

This instance refers to life which means that in order to get a job done, you need to use your brain and deal with the situation. You cannot escape anyway, nor can you remain standing at a certain point and expect the things to occur all by themselves.

If you want to reach up to your destination, you would obviously need to give a start from your place and get going through the ways. You cannot just expect everything to happen all by themselves while you are not doing anything other than just day-dreaming.

If you have already set a goal for yourself, remember to walk for it. Of course, you need to wait and think about it, but at the same time, you should have the ability to understand that simply thinking of staring at the path or chalking out plans won’t push you to the goal.

Hence, you need to act according to the plans that you have set for yourself, and get going! Only then will you be able to reach your destination.

You cannot cross the sea just by standing at a point and looking at the waves, and wondering all the way. Of course, it is a positive sign to see that you are investing your time to reach the target, but that’s where you should not be stopping.

You must consequently work to reach the goal and thus, put all your efforts to reach to the destination. Understand the real meaning of life, and try chasing all your dreams as fast as possible, without wasting your valuable time in doing nothing.

You will meet a lot of hardships, but life is all about the ones who reach up to the aim despite the odds that were there along the way. Remember that no one will ever remember the ones who have tried, but the talk will always be about the ones who could actually make it up to the success.
