The house does not rest upon the ground, but upon a woman. - Mexican Proverb

Remember that a house does not exist on the ground, but it rests upon a woman. This is primarily a metaphor that resembles that the house might be built on the ground physically, but it could only be marked as a residence in its true sense only when a woman builds it.

This statement symbolizes the fact that it is only the woman who builds the house. They are the ones who have all the power in building or breaking a house.

A house made of bricks and cement might be existential physically, but it takes a lot of emotions and responsibilities that combine together to building up a residence.

In this patriarchal society, we might blame the women for each and every little thing they do! However, deep in our hearts, we all realize that a woman is the one who binds up all the relations together, and takes care of the entire family in the house.

No matter how strong are the bricks and pillars of your house, it is only a woman who makes sure that all the knots are tied together. She is the savior of the entire house. She is the one who is responsible for taking care of each and every member of the family.

It can either be a mother, a wife, or a daughter. They may come in different characters, but each one of them has got a significant role to play in our lives. They do not only take care of our household chores but also make sure that we stay good, relaxed, and happy all the time.

They have access to the heart of each and every member of the family, and they never let anyone get ignored by any chance. Ask a mother, and she would know where her children are, where her husband is, and what they are up to!

These women are no less than angels. It is barely impossible to think that they manage so many jobs altogether, yet do not complain about any! Hence, it is rightly said that a house rests upon the shoulder of a woman and not on the ground.
