Native American Proverbs

Never judge another man until you have walked a mile in his moccasins. – Native American Proverb

Remember that it is elementary to judge someone from a certain viewpoint without sufficient data. This is actually meaningless because life is meant to be lived with our own choices, and therefore we are no one to judge the decisions made by others.

It is our sole duty to report anything which, as per our knowledge is incorrect, but we do not have any right to comment on someone’s decisions or life. It is their own personal choice, and we should not have any problem with that.

It is important to acknowledge the fact that life is actually much different from as we assume it to be. We never know what people actually go through their lives to achieve a little degree of happiness and a complete meal. Therefore, we should not judge them until and unless we are completely aware of someone’s ins and outs.

Remember that we only know the name of that person and only a certain portion of him or her. We do not know the person as a whole, and therefore all our assumptions and opinions may be completely wrong.

It is absolutely irrational and illogical to hold opinions about someone regarding certain things based on these pieces of stuff. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest, and therefore it is essential to help someone in times of their need.

Here, the word “a mile” actually represents a long distance. Meaning, before we judge someone, we must be well equipped with all the facts and ideas. Moreover, until and unless we live the lives of someone else and experience their pain, we cannot figure this out.

It is also necessary to know the famous proverb, which says that “Do not judge a book by its cover”. This means that life is not just a statistical fact and data analysis, it is actually much beyond that. It is also advised to work more on ourselves instead of realizing what others are actually doing.
