Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go. – Oscar Wilde

Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go. - Oscar Wilde

The most amazing thing about this adage is the way it twists two similarly sounding phrases into the exact opposite of each other. While the first kind of people depicts the ones, who are welcomed to each and every place. They are the set of people who bring joy and happiness wherever they go!

They are the ones who bring happiness to the faces of others. Thus, they are preferred by others. People love to have them in friendly conversations, parties, and different events. They are those bunches of lively people who are always quick to be anyone’s friend.

They could be considered as the most reliable ones too, someone you as a stranger can also talk to, learn from, and they would be there to help you with their genuine opinions and suggestions.

On the other hand, there is another set of people who are not so popular or liked by everyone. That does mean that people do not crave to have them in parties and occasions. They are rarely invited or welcomed. They are the ones who are either a bit introvert or hard people, or one can categorize them into the list of reserved people.

They aren’t that friendly either! These people are the ones who do not bring happiness along with them. Instead, joy seems to be around only once they leave! Thus, trying to be one from the former category is always better than the latter case.
