You have two ears and one mouth. Follow that ratio. Listen more, talk less. – Unknown

Most of the world’s conflicts are because of misunderstandings. We tend to indulge more in what we want to hear than what people actually tend to tell us. A fabricated line exists between thinking and overthinking, and we generally land up doing the latter.

If we understand how the world works, we will get to figure it out that most of these conflicts can be settled if we just give it enough time to heal as it says, ‘Between the aching and the learning is the healing’!

We should inculcate a more spontaneous habit of listening to people at first and then interpreting it in the right way. Misunderstandings tend to complicate things that can be solved just by simple talking and discussion followed by negotiation.

So, as we have two ears, we should try to listen more to people. Finding out what others have to convey to us is necessary and is actually a part and parcel of any sustaining bond. It should also be taken into account that one must speak out only after he or she has verified all the details by himself/herself and deliver the right opinion.

Making sure what others want from us and effectively dealing with it stands a matter of paramount importance. Just as the ratio of ears and mouth says, it is essential to listen more and speak lesser so that you can actually chalk out the sense from it.

Just as the ratio of ears and mouth is 2:1, you should hear more and then talk only after you are confident enough to confront!
