Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own. - Bruce Lee

This is one of the most amazing things you can do to grow properly. Adaptation is one of the foremost formula for growing. As we grow, we learn different things from different people and different situations. We get to know some good things as well as some bad things.

We keep on experimenting ourselves in the process as we grow. These experiments give us the lessons of what is right and what is wrong in different situations of life.

Now in the meantime, as we learn different things, we should also become more mature to understand what is wrong and what is right and then act accordingly. We should always keep adapting the good things from people and situations, whenever we get a chance.

However, as we all know, there are some good things and some bad things in a person. A Person cannot be completely good, just like someone cannot be completely bad though.

So you must learn to understand what are the good qualities in your elders, and people you come across, and what are the bad habits in them. Adapt the good habits, and reject the bad habits always, to grow yourself up as a great human being.

However, in between deciding what is good and what is bad, do not forget what specifically is your own. Because that is the only thing that will give a unique, personal touch to your character (to your personality), it is the one thing that will define you as a different person.

Thus, the unique personal touch is very much important, because, without that, you will turn into something that you are not. Then you have to play a pretentious role, which will help you only to increase your frustration about yourself.

Thus, always adapt the good things and reject the bad ones, but don’t forget to add up your unique touch in between.
