When we win, people only see the rewards or awards we have achieved, but they often forget to count the effort, hard work, and determination we had put in to reap the harvest. Thus, the word, ‘gold medals’ here serves to be a metaphor for success.

To taste the fruits of success and achieve the gold medals, it is important to see beyond and find out the amount of hard work or sweat one has poured into! Without hard work, there is absolutely no substitute to reach your goal.

Consequently, it takes a lot of determination to succeed. Hard work alone is not just sufficient. In order to accomplish a goal, one needs to be focused or determined towards the target and only then, will he be able to achieve something that he has ever dreamt of! There might be a lot of distractions coming along your way but one who succeeds never get moved by them.

Last but not the least, it takes guts to achieve something. Many times, you need to counter situations where you would need courage. Not everyone has got that bravery in heart and the courage in mind to stand out of the rest. A man with a gut will be able to achieve success, and that’s indeed very rare.

Thus, guts could be symbolized by hard-to-find alloys. Just as it takes a lot of effort to obtain an alloy from an ore, and some alloys are too hard to extract; in the same way, guts or a soul with courage isn’t easy to find!
