Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear. – Mark Twain

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear. - Mark Twain

We are a blessed generation to have many things in our vicinity. However, sometimes we tend to misdescribe some things. We, the people of the world, have already taken courage as the antonym of fear. This is what we learn in our schools; this is what our teachers, parents and other elders tell us.

However, if you can think, you will eventually realize that courage is not what you think. It is not the antonym of fear. Courage might be not what you think it is as well. Smoking a cigarette for the first time, or developing such habits and then bragging about them in front of your friends later is not courage.

Instead, courage is the resistance of fear. Courage is the mastery of fear; the mastery you always want to achieve. Courage is not the absence of fear when you say that you don’t fear anything; you might be just lying because deep down in our hearts; we always have some fears.

However, your ability to overcome fear to thrive on the path of your dreams, to raise yourself as great personnel, a great human being is what courage is all about.

So next time someone asks you to describe your courage, remember, you may not be properly able to describe it in words, so better tell them with your actions in life.
