Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back, and reasons to stay. - Dalai Lama

When you love someone, you should love them unconditionally. Never make them bound to yourself. The world is very big, and there is a lot for both of you to explore in this world together as well as individuals.

When we are in love, we should be together; we should explore the world together, we should love each other, and stay together always. But you have to inspire your partner to fly. You have to make them believe that we all have wings under our clothes, it’s just us who needs to learn how to fly.

Because the world will never teach you that. Once you learn how to fly as an individual, you can fly together to explore whatever you two wish to explore. Help your partner fly.

Give them roots to come back. Because, once you learn to fly, the sky is your limit. But at the end of the day, when he/she will come back home, tired, and devastated after the fight with the whole world, there should be something telling your partner that there is a home, where he/she can come and take rest for the night.

Just like tress, no matter how tall they grow, they will always be rooted in the ground. And finally, love your partner so much that they will always stay by your side, no matter what the situation is.

Because, no matter how many things you gift to your partner, no matter what expensive gifts they like if love is not there, even a thousand gifts will not matter, but if love is there, zero gifts will not be a problem too.
